By popular demand, The Monktoberfest returns for the third time in the fall of 2013. The conference that was born from a tweet is back, bringing you the best speakers, talks you will hear nowhere else and – of course – the best craft beer the world has to offer.
This one of a kind event will begin in downtown Portland, ME on October 3rd in the Portland Public Library, as last year. Attendees arriving the night before will be treated to fine craft beers and appetizers. Thursday will feature a full day’s worth of sessions, and at the conclusion of the day we’ll be gathering at a former locomotive foundry that overlooks Portland’s waterfront and Casco Bay for a beer tasting and dinner.
We’re delighted to say that once more our tasting will be led by Leigh and Ryan Travers, who alumni should remember from previous years. Though the husband and wife team has left Maine to open a new bar in partnership with Stillwater Ales in Baltimore, they’re flying back in just to lead us through a tasting of the best craft beers in the world.
As with last year, we’ll be adding a second half day’s worth of sessions. If your travel plans allow, then, join us on Friday the 4th for a morning of networking, breakout talks and breakfast.
Update: The Monktoberfest Beer Hall – our community forum – is now online here.
